Nandita Das

Renowned for her roles in over 40 films across 10 languages, Ms. Das has earned acclaim for directing impactful movies like Firaaq (2008), Manto (2018), and Zwigato (2023). Holding a master’s degree in Social Work, she passionately advocates for human rights and social justice. Awarded the ‘Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters’ by the French Government in 2011, she founded ‘Nandita Das Initiatives’ in 2016, producing notable works like Manto and Zwigato. In her first book, “Manto & I,” she narrates the journey of creating Manto and recently edited “Jatin Das: A Retrospective 1963 – 2023” for the National Gallery of Modern Art.
