Mohan Agashe

An accomplished Indian psychiatrist and actor, Dr. Agashe has also been recognized with the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 1996 for theatre excellence and the Padma Shri in 1990. Having served as a Psychiatry professor at B. J. Medical College and Sassoon Hospital in Pune, he extended his expertise to clinical psychology and psychopharmacology. Dr. Agashe’s passion for acting led him to theatre later in his career, marked by notable performances in countless plays and iconic films like Rang De Basanti, Toofan, Aakrosh, Astu, and Ab Tak Chhappan. As the former Director General of the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune, his influence extends beyond the stage to film education.
