Manjari Chaturvedi

Manjari Chaturvedi is a Kathak dancer, choreographer, and cultural researcher known for her long-term work on Sufi-linked performance traditions. She pioneered Sufi Kathak in 1998 and has led sustained research projects on tawaif culture and Qawwali, focusing on documentation, preservation, and public engagement. Through initiatives such as the Courtesan Project and the Qawwali Project, her work foregrounds marginalised musical lineages and reinterprets classical forms through history, performance, and contemporary cultural discourse.
