Vidya Rao

Vidya Rao is a distinguished performer of thumri-dadra and ghazal, trained under eminent maestros including Naina Devi, Girija Devi, Shanti Hiranand, Pandit Mani Prasad, and Prof. B. N. Datta. She has performed widely in India and abroad, with a repertoire spanning devotional, poetic, and classical traditions. Alongside performance, she has researched and written extensively on music and the performing arts. A recipient of major fellowships, she has held visiting academic and artistic residencies in India, Europe, and the United States.
