Indivar Kamtekar is a Visiting Professor of History at Ashoka University. He taught modern history for most of his career at Jawaharlal Nehru University, and has also held teaching positions at IIM Calcutta, the National University of Singapore, and universities in Germany and New Zealand. His research focuses on British colonial state power and the profound political and social transformations in India during the 1940s, shaped by the Second World War, Independence, and Partition.
